If the mobile app cannot find the barcode in your list of products, you're given the option to add the barcode to an existing product, or create a new product based around the scanned barcode. The process of resolving a scan of a missing product is dependent on the selected scanning mode.
Quick Scan Mode
When using quick scan mode, the following popup will be shown when an unknown product is scanned. You can continue scanning products and will be given the opportunity to review and update the unknown product.
All unknown products will be listed at the top of the review page and will need to be resolved before you commit the changes to Channelup.
Tapping on an unknown product will give you options on what to do with the unknown barcode.
Normal Scan Mode
In normal scan mode, the resolution prompt will be displayed immediately after scanning an unknown product.
Resolving Unknown Products
There are two options to resolve an unknown product: you can either look up an existing product or create a new product.
You can look up the product in your list of products, and tap it to add the barcode to this product, along with any inventory changes you made.
Create New Product
If you are unable to find the product in your inventory, or if it doesn't exist, you can create a new product by simply adding the product name. When the create button is tapped you're given the opportunity to add data about the product. Please bear in mind that you are not able to save a product that doesn't contain a SKU.
